Sound-sign (installation/sound performance) Mind Plantation/ A&T Art Technology (Mehmet Gün) Environments/ Sinan Bökesoy, Mahmut Yalay 9.6.1999> 23.6.1999 |
| Mind Plantation Progressing of the methods in which we utilise technological opportunities has always been revitalising for me to follow. With this in mind, I have formed a new application principal under the title 'Mind Plantation', in 1999. This style which is uncompromising of the values of electronic music that it is derived from, includes today's digital processes, methods and techno music applications to create multi-dimensional recordings and live performances of electronic music. Mind Plantation involves a broad principal of application from tone installations to CD works. Mind Plantation is a method originating from the base of the work titled, 'Installation and tone', applied by myself for the first time at Berlin International Tone Festival, 'Sonambiente', which took place in 1996. I believe that, today, Mind Plantation has expanded to a greater platform with the progress of the idea I have initiated in 1996. Mehmet Gün EnvironmentsEnvironments is a project which defines the reflections of our subconscious formed by the influence of the environment we live in, by means of electro-acoustic and digital music. In this project, the musical compositions of the electronic pieces were done by Sinan Bökesoy, while Mahmut Yalay designed the visual setting and performed on the upright bass and Sami Altındağ performed on the wind instruments and the keyboard. The improvisations of the musicians were combined with the digital material prepared previously on the computer and were manipulated by Sinan Bökesoy during the performance. A Quadra-phonic sound system was used during the performances. |
